Do resumes need a photo?

In most cases, a photo is unnecessary; use the space for experience and evidence unless local norms clearly require one.

For most professional roles, a photo is not needed and can create distractions or bias. Follow the expectations of your country, industry, and application process. When in doubt, choose a readable resume that gives the role-relevant information more room.
