Should I Include My GPA on a Resume?

Learn when a GPA strengthens a student or recent-graduate resume and when it is better to highlight projects, skills, and results instead.

Include your GPA when it is strong, recent, and relevant to the opportunity, or when the employer specifically asks for it. A common guideline is to include a 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, but context matters.

If your GPA is not a strength, use the space for relevant courses, projects, awards, internships, skills, or measurable work. You can include a major GPA when it better reflects the role and label it clearly. As you gain professional experience, GPA usually becomes less important and can be removed unless the application requires it.
